An email has gone out to all pre order customers which advises that orders will be despatched in order of them being placed, so earliest order first. Wholesale orders will be going out in much the same way and then its over to the stores to deliver how they see fit. UK orders could take up to about a week to be received therefore, and depending on the individual country's postal service I would allow three to four weeks for delivery overseas. We'll also be taking the pre order special price off the website at the end of this week so the price will be going up to its full price from Monday. So if you would still like to take advantage of the pre order offer for a few more days, now is the time to do it.
So a couple of days ago, Gavin and I set off through the countryside to meet with the lovely printing firm who are printing the book for us. The pages of the book were being printed 16 pages to one sheet of paper, so 8 pages to each side of paper. With 400 pages to the book that means 25 separate 'sets' of 16 pages. This doesn't sound so much until you see all spread out in front of you!

Where the chap is at the far end of the row is the other end of the book and it is all the piles that you can see. I almost burst into tears as we walked around the corner and saw it spread out in front of us.
And it wasn't just the number of piles

We were given a guided tour of the factory and shown the enormous press that our book was being printed on

Here are a few more images of our book 'curing' before it leaves the printers to have its beautiful hard back case wrapped around it.

Very exciting....the images from afar even look very delish. I can't wait to see how it turns out. A book this size could keep a knitter busy for years. Seriously.
It looks lovely. I'm presuming you'll have the book with you at Harrogate, I do like what I've seen so far but it's a big investment (for so many patterns it's not a terrible price though!) so I would want to have a flick through before making the purchase! Looking forward to seeing the book!
Yes we will have it for sale at Harrogate. We'll also post a gallery of all the patterns once the book is out, as I do appreciate people need to see what they're getting for their money, but it seems only fair that pre order customers get to see most of them first :)

It's exciting to see it all like this, it gives an idea of the scale of the project which we wouldn't normally see!
Not surprised that seeing your 'baby' brought tears to your eyes. It must be so very exciting for you and I for one can't wait to see my copy.
Wonderful to have a little peek into the printing process - can't wait to see the real thing! Even the 'blurry' pictures look good from here.
How exciting, congratulations! This is on my Christmas list! Jx

Love this blog post. If I hadn't pre ordered the book already I totally would after reading this.
Thank you for sharing these pics, it makes it all the more personal to know that my book is somewhere on those piles.
Also thumbs up for the enviroment!!
Congratulations, you are almost there.
And I am almost not skint anymore. It's like you held off putting it out just for me.
Thanks for that
